Shupenia Advances to the Quarterfinals of the ITA Midwest Regional

Ann Arbor, Mich. -- No. 119 ranked singles player in the country, Yuliya Shupenia remains the lone DePaul women's tennis player in competition at the ITA Midwest Regional Championship in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Shupenia defeated Mira Ruder-Hook from Michigan 2-6, 7-6, 6-2 in Round 16 to move on to the Quarterfinals tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. Central time. Shupenia, the No. 4 seeded singles player in the competition faces Erin Larner from Northwestern next.
Freshman Marina Cozac dropped her match against Maddie Lipp from Northwestern 6-2, 6-2.
