Shupenia Falls in the Semifinals at the ITA Regional

Ann Arbor, Mich.- Yuliya Shupenia, the No. 119 ranked singles player in the country ended her run at the ITA Midwest Regional Championship today after dropping her match in the semifinals of singles play in Ann Arbor, Mich.
In day five of the six-day long tournament, Shupenia ousted Erin Larner from Northwestern 6-3, 6-4 in the quarterfinals to etch her mark in the semifinal standings.
During the semifinals match, the junior dropped to Brienne Minor from Michigan 6-3, 6-4 and finished with an overall 3-1 singles record in the tournament.
Overall, the Blue Demons women's tennis team finished the tournament with a 12-10 record in singles and doubles action.
Up next for the Mark Ardizzone's squad is the Roberta Allison Tournament in Tuscaloosa, Ala. this weekend.
