Blue Demons Finish at the ITA All-American Championship

Qualifying Singles Backdraw | Qualifying Doubles
Pacific Palisades, Calif. - The No. 57 ranked doubles tandem of Yuliya Shupenia and Rebeca Mitrea's run at the ITA All-American Championship ended today at the Riviera Tennis Club.
The Blue Demons fell 8-5 to Stephanie Nauta and Danielle Collins from Virginia. Prior, Shupenia and Mitrea defeated a pair from BYU 8-6 the day before.
Shupenia, the No. 119 ranked singles player in the country, fell in the singles backdraw 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (4) to Yuliy Lysa from Arkansas. The junior finished 1-2 in singles action to finish out the competition.
The ITA All-American Championship wrap up on Sat., Oct. 11 with singles and doubles finals.
Next up for the Blue Demons is the Bronco Invitational up in Kalamazoo, Mich. Fri., Oct. 9-11.
