Women's Tennis Heads to Kalamazoo, Mich.

CHICAGO- The DePaul women's tennis teams travels to Kalamazoo, Mich. this weekend for the Bronco Invitational hosted by Western Michigan.
The three day event beginning on Fri., Oct. 9 and ending on Sun., Oct. 11 welcomes Valpariso, Oakland, IUPUI, Wright State, Chicago State and Lewis College besides the Blue Demons and host Broncos.
The DePaul is set to compete in three out of six singles flights and the doubles flight.
In the Singles A Amy Yeast Flight, Marina Cozac takes on Lindsey Verstrepen from Wright State while Zaina Sufi challenges Dora Andrejszki from Lewis University. For the Singles B Larissa Mavors Flight, Jarret Fisher challenges Sara Sherif from IUPUI. In Singles C Heidi Vizgaitis Flight, Milica Tesic is set to compete against Dasha Artamonova from Oakland.
In doubles action, Sufi and Cozac are set to team up against a pair from Valpariso while Tesic and Fisher take on a duo from Wright State.
Junior Yuliya Shupenia and graduate senior Rebeca Mitrea just finished competition at the ITA All-American Championship out in California. The tournament is reserved for top players in the country and spans a week long. Yuliya, ranked No. 119 in singles, clinched a win at the event while teaming with Mitrea as the No. 57 ranked doubles duo to record a victory as well.
For the rest of the team, the Blue Demons battled in Evanston at the Wildcat Invitational at Northwestern two weeks ago. Overall, the squad finished 23-13 record in singles and doubles with Cozac winning all but one of her singles rounds.
