Volleyball Closes Home Schedule with Two BIG EAST Matches

CHICAGO - The DePaul volleyball team finishes its eight-match homestand by hosting Georgetown and Creighton this weekend.
On Friday, DePaul takes on Georgetown at 7 p.m. CT and honors Saige Gallop, Tyler Graham, Callie Huebener and Randi Leath as part of Senior Day. The next day, the Blue Demons face Creighton at 8 p.m. CT for Fan Appreciation Night.
Gallop has a 2.46 kills per set average this year and is third on the team for total attacks at 535. She led the Blue Demons in kills per set last year with an average of 3.14 and was the program's first ever CoSIDA Academic All-District Team member.
Defensive specialist/libero Graham leads the team with 3.40 digs per set and has amassed over 300 digs this season. Graham is third on the Blue Demons with 27 service aces. Through three seasons with DePaul, the senior has tallied 676 career digs and 53 service aces.
Huebener is second on the team for kills per set with a 2.02 average in BIG EAST matches this year. Overall, the outside hitter has 195 kills and 37 service aces, a mark that ranks 33rd in the nation and first in the BIG EAST. Huebener has recorded 2.00 kills per set or more in each of her four seasons with DePaul.
Leath is just one kill away from breaking the 100-kill mark this season. The middle blocker has 43 blocks this year, fourth on DePaul, and averages 1.43 kills per set. Playing in over 75 matches for the Blue Demons, Leath has blocked over 200 attacks in three seasons.

Last Time vs. Georgetown
DePaul battled Georgetown to five sets on the road, but it was the Hoyas who earned the win. Caitlyn Coffey was two blocks away from a double-double on the day and finished with a team-high 12 kills and a match-high eight total blocks. Brittany Maxwell and Jasmine King both recorded double-digit kills with 11 and 10, respectively. Graham produced 21 digs and three service aces in the five sets. Liv King regis¬tered a match-high 18 kills for the Hoyas, while Alyssa Sinnette had 17 kills.
Scouting The Hoyas
The Hoyas begin the week with a 10-16 overall record, 4-9 in the BIG EAST. Georgetown recorded victories over Providence and Seton Hall before dropping a road contest to Villanova. Alyssa Sinnette leads the way for GU in kills with 3.51 per set, sixth in the BIG EAST. Kenzie Higareda is third in the conference for digs per set with an average of 4.50. She ranks third in the BIG EAST for the stat category. The Hoyas are third in the conference with a 1.48 service aces per set average. GU sits last in the conference for blocks per set at 1.32.
Last Time vs. Creighton
DePaul jumped out to an early lead on the road against Creighton, but fell to the Bluejays in a five-set decision. Graham produced a match-high 20 digs and added four assists. Maxwell tallied 18 kills on 42 attacks, a match-high for the freshman. Coffey followed behind with 14 kills and a .462 hitting percentage. King tied for a team-best four total blocks with Coffey. Taryn Kloth recorded 16 kills for Creighton on 33 total attacks.
Scouting The Bluejays
Creighton comes into the week as the top team in the BIG EAST with a record of 12-1 in conference matches. Its lone loss came this past weekend at Villanova, a five-set defeat. It was the first loss for Creighton since Sept. 19 to No. 11 Wisconsin. The Bluejays are tops in the BIG EAST for hitting percentage (.257), assists per set (13.03) and kills per set (13.83). Lauren Smith leads the BIG EAST with a .373 hitting percentage. Jaali Winters is second in the conference with a 3.91 kills per set average.
