DePaul's Winning Streak Snapped in Huntington

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. -- The DePaul women's tennis team saw its five-match winning streak come to an end at the hands of Marshall on Friday evening to kick off its two-day stay in West Virginia.
The 5-2 loss dropped DePaul's overall record to 13-4, while Marshall improved to 13-7 with the win.
Marshall took a 1-0 lead to start the day by winning 2-of-3 doubles matches. Rebeca Mitrea and Zaina Sufi posted a doubles win for the No. 38 Blue Demons in the No. 3 spot, taking down Maddie Silver and and Rachael Morales, 6-3.Ă‚Â
In singles play, Mitrea evened the score at one apiece with a convincing 6-0, 6-1 victory over Marija Bogicevic at No. 5 singles. But the Thundering Herd posted wins at the No. 1, 2 and 3 singles matches to clinch the win.Ă‚Â
DePaul's second point was registered by Jasmin Kling, who beat Kai Broomfield, 3-6, 6-4, 10-7, in the No. 4 singles match.
The Blue Demons will look to bounce back tomorrow at 11 a.m. against No. 52 William & Mary.
