Blue Demons Conclude Play at the Wildcat Invite

EVANSTON, Ill. - The DePaul women's tennis team finished the Wildcat Invitational Sunday evening in Evanston.
One round of singles was played Sunday by the 10 participating teams.
"The Wildcat tournament always does a great job of showing where you are at as a team," reflected women's tennis head coach Mark Ardizzone. "We now see we have a lot of work to do to get better."
DePaul failed to record a victory in singles play on Sunday. Milica Tesic battled with Taylor Tamblyn from Iowa, but ultimately fell 6-2, 2-6, 1-0 (6).
Aspasia Avgeri fell to Monica Robinson from Notre Dame 6-1, 6-1.
Patricia Lancranjan dropped her match 7-5, 6-2 to Sedi Jacobs from Kentucky and Marina Cozac fell to Zoe Spence from Notre Dame 6-2, 6-1.
Over the course of the three days, the Blue Demons played a combined 20 matches.
Up next for DePaul, Yuliya Shupenia heads to Los Angeles for the All-American Championships Oct. 8-9. The event welcomes the top-ranked tennis players in the nation. Shupenia will compete in the singles qualifying bracket and is ranked No. 66 in the country.
