Shupenia Advances to the ITA Midwest Regional Quarterfinals

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Yuliya Shupenia from the DePaul women's tennis team advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Midwest Regional Championship on Sunday afternoon on the courts of Michigan State's campus.
The senior clinched a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Brooke Broda from Notre Dame to take her place among the top eight in the singles draw.
Shupenia now faces Kate Fahey from Michigan on Monday at 10 a.m.
In doubles action, Shupenia and Aspasia Avgeri lost to Broda and Robinson from Notre Dame 8-7 (6).
Quarterfinals and semifinals action in singles is scheduled for Monday with the singles championship taking place on Tuesday.
