CHICAGO - DePaul has one goal in mind for Friday night, and that is to secure its second outright BIG EAST Conference regular-season title.
The place will be Valley Fields in Milwaukee and the opponent second-place Marquette (10-6-2, 6-2-0) in a winner-take-all scenario with one exception.
A tie would lock up the outright title for first-place DePaul (10-5-2, 7-1-0) and the top seed in the BIG EAST Championship tournament. Coach Erin Chastain's side has already clinched a share of the regular-season title, winning nine of its last 10 games.
The Blue Demons go into their final BIG EAST match with 21 points in the standings while Marquette has 18. A Marquette win would mean a share of the regular-season title with DePaul and the No. 1 seed in the playoffs by virtue of head-to-head result.
The Golden Eagles have won six of their last seven conference matches in their push to the postseason. On the season, Marquette has outscored opponents 26-25 with a 77-62 gap in points. Opposing teams have a 92-88 edge in shots on goal.
Carrie Madden heads up the attack with four goals, five assists and three game-winners. Molly Pfeiffer has four goals and five assists while Darian Powell has four goals.
The title showdown will be broadcast by the BIG EAST Digital Network which can be accessed at foxsportsgo.com.
