Shupenia Prepares for the ITA All-American Championship

CHICAGO-Yuliya Shupenia from the DePaul women's tennis team is set to make her season debut among the nation's elite at the ITA All-American Championship at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, California.
Shupenia is set to take on Madison Harrison from Mississippi State on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 12:30 p.m. Central time.
Shupenia, the No. 66 ranked player in the country, is in the qualifying matches singles bracket.
The entire tournament spans Oct. 1-9. Prequalifying matches took place Oct. 1-2. Qualifying matches are set for Oct. 4-5 while main draw contests get underway on Oct. 6. The singles and doubles finals are scheduled for Oct. 9.
Main draw singles semifinalists, main draw doubles finalists and main draw consolation champions will receive automatic entry into the 2016 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, Nov. 3-6 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.

Last year, Shupenia finished second on the team with 19 overall victories. The Gomel, Belarus native was the Blue Demons No. 1 singles player, notching a 13-4 record in the dual season.
