Shupenia Concludes Play at the ITA-All American Championship

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - DePaul women's tennis player Yuliya Shupenia notched a 1-1 record in the first day of the qualifying singles bracket of the ITA All-American Championship on Tuesday at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, California.
Shupenia, the No. 66 ranked singles player in the country, won her match over Madison Harrison from Mississippi State by default, but then fell in the next round to Lily Miyazaki of Oklahoma 6-4, 6-3.
The ITA All-American Championship welcomes the nation's elite tennis players in singles and doubles. The entire competition spans Oct. 1-9.
Qualifying singles matches wrap up on Wednesday while the main draw contests get underway Oct. 6. The singles and doubles finals are scheduled for Oct. 9.
