
No. 18/17 DePaul Faces No. 11/18 Syracuse

ESTERO, Fla. - No. 18/17 DePaul (4-1) will be looking to finish up strong on Sunday against No. 11/18 Syracuse (4-2) in the third-place game of the Gulf Coast Showcase.
The Blue Demons lost for the first time this season when No. 5/6 Baylor (6-1) came away with a 104-72 victory in Saturday's semifinal round. Jacqui Grant led DePaul with 18 points while Ashton Millender scored 11 points and has scored in double digits all five games this season. Grant & Co. were victimized by a third quarter that saw the Lady Bears outscore them 39-17.
Syracuse rallied from 15 points down, but ultimately fell short against No. 8/8 Ohio State 77-72. It was tied 72-72 with 40 seconds to play before OSU scored the final five points. Alexis Peterson paced the team with a season-high 29 points and Brittney Sykes added 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.
DePaul will take the Germain Arena court averaging 85.4 points a game led by January at 18.6 and Millender at 15. Grant is averaging 11.2 points and 8.4 rebounds. The Blue Demons equaled a season high with 15 three-pointers against Baylor.
