Blue Demons Wrap Up Day One in Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Members of the DePaul women's tennis team finished the first day of the Bronco Super Challenge hosted by Western Michigan on Friday.
Florence Abbott paired with Ana Vladutu in the first round of doubles and Aspasia Avgeri in the second. All three competed in singles.
Abbott and Vladutu dropped their first doubles match to Meika Ashby and Melina Lyubomirova from Western Michigan 8-5.
Abbott and Avgeri defeated Samantha Memije and Athena Trouillot from Michigan State 8-7 (7-0) in the second round. The two face Katja Fevralev and Gabriela Slavonia from Western Michigan tomorrow.
In singles action, Avgeri was the lone Blue Demon to notch a win for the day. She defeated Lyubomirova 6-3, 3-6, 10-8.
On Saturday, play resumes on the Sorensen Courts with the final two round of doubles and another round of singles.
