January Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

CHICAGO - DePaul senior Jessica January was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Women's Basketball Honor Roll it was announced on Monday by the league office.
January helped DePaul to a 1-1 week as the Blue Demons topped Prairie View A&M94-62, while they dropped a hard-fought 75-61 game to No. 2/1 Notre Dame on Saturday.
For the week, January averaged 15.5 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game. She scored 12 against Prairie View A&M and added 19 points against the Irish.
Georgetown's Dorothy Adomako was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week and Seton Hall's Shadeen Samuels was the Freshman of the Week.
January has been either named the BIG EAST Player of the Week or to the Weekly Honor Roll in four of the five weeks this season.
DePaul fell one spot to No. 17 in this week's Associated Press Poll. The Blue Demons travel to Temple and Loyola Chicago this week. Thursday's 8 p.m. game at Temple will be broadcast on ESPNU.
