No. 16 Women's Hoops Hosts Tennessee-Martin on Tuesday

CHICAGO - The DePaul women's basketball team closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule on Tuesday when it hosts Tennessee Martin. The Blue Demons and Skyhawks tip at 7 p.m. and BlueTube coverage is available with Dave Bernhard and Trish Babcock McGraw on the call. DePaul (7-4) is coming off a 107-46 win at Loyola on Sunday. The Blue Demons dished out 35 assists against the Ramblers and rank second in Division I with 21.7 assists per game.
Paced by Jessica January's 6.6 assists per game - which ranks 15th in DI and tops in the BIG EAST - the Blue Demons have five players with more than 20 assists on the season. With its efficient offense, the Blue Demons are averaging an assist on 70 percent of its baskets and six players are averaging more than eight points per game.
January leads DePaul's offensive charge with 16.5 points per game which ranks second in the BIG EAST. Ashton Millender (12.8), Jacqui Grant (11.3), Amarah Coleman (9.9) and Brooke Schulte (9.7) all rank in the top 30 in the BIG EAST in scoring while the Blue Demons lead the league with 83.4 points per game.
UT-Martin (3-8) comes to Chicago after dropping an 80-69 game at Missouri on Saturday. Myah Taylor (11.5) and Emany Robertson (11.2) are both averaging double figures for the Skyhawks. UT-Martin is playing its seventh game away from their home arena and play at Northwestern on Thursday.
UT-Martin has made the NCAA Tournament in four of the last six years. The Skyhawks visited Chicago for the NCAA First and Second Rounds in 2012 when the Blue Demons hosted in Rosemont.
Following Tuesday's game the Blue Demons open BIG EAST Conference play on the road at Georgetown (Dec. 28) and Villanova (Dec. 30). Entering league play, the Hoyas are 8-2 and do not play another game before the Blue Demons visit Washington D.C. Villanova is 4-5 and plays its final non-conference game at Duke on Dec. 21.
