No. 53 Women's Tennis Bests Illinois State 7-0

CHICAGO - The No. 53 DePaul women's tennis team notched its second 7-0 sweep in a row with a victory at home against Illinois State Saturday evening.
DePaul (6-6) won every match in singles and all but one in doubles.
The senior tandem of Zaina Sufi and Jarret Fisher started off the victorious match in doubles play with 6-0 win over Sarah Paulson and Catherine Schulman.The No. 37 ranked duo of Yuliya Shupenia and Rebeca Mitrea followed with a 6-3 win against Marcia Tere-Apisah and Kadi Ilves at No. 1. Patricia Lancranjan and Marina Cozac fell at No. 2 7-5 to Veronika Golanova and Jana Kustkova 7-5.
In singles, Mitrea began DePaul's run with 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 4 over Ilves. Fisher followed with a win at No. 6 against Schulman 6-2, 6-0. Sufi defeated Valerija Gercar 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 as Marina Cozac took down Marcia Tere-Apisah 6-2, 6-4. Shupenia followed with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Golanova as Lancranjan closed out with a 7-5, 7-6 win over Kustkova at No. 3.
DePaul returns to courts of the Lakeshore Sport & Fitness Center on Sunday at 1 p.m. to face the University of Iowa.
