Women's Tennis Begins Season at the Bradley Invitational

CHICAGO- The DePaul women's tennis team begins competition for its 2016-17 season at the Bradley Invitational in Peoria, Illinois Sept. 23-25 on The David Markin Tennis Courts.
The three-day long tournament begins on Friday with two rounds of singles. A round of doubles and the third round of singles are set for Saturday with finals in singles and doubles on Sunday.
DePaul is one of eight teams participating at the event. The teams include Chicago State, Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, Northern Illinois, Saint Louis, Western Illinois and hosts, Bradley.
Sophomores Marina Cozac and Milica Tesic and freshman Aspasia Avgeri will represent the Blue Demons at the competition.
Cozac is the first Blue Demon to serve at 10 a.m. Friday in the red bracket of Singles Flight One against Pauline Chawafambria from NIU.
Avgeri and Tesic follow in their singles action at noon.
Avgeri faces Djina Tchakarova from Saint Louis in the white bracket of Singles Flight One while Tesic takes on Hanemas Pangestu from Chicago State in the white bracket of Singles Flight Two.
In doubles action, Avgeri and Tesic team up to challenge Chawafambira and Raven Neely from NIU on Saturday at 9 a.m.
The Bradley Invitational marks the first of six fall tournaments for the Blue Demons.
