CHICAGO - You could feel the surge as Erik Rodriguez scored in the 75th minute Saturday to bring DePaul within one goal of No. 12/20 Creighton at Wish Field.
And when the Blue Demons began pushing forward in search of the equalizer, that's when Riggs Lennon finished twice in DePaul's 4-1 BIG EAST Conference loss.
Lennon scored back-to-back in a span of 36 seconds during the 86th and 87th minutes for his third and fourth goals of the game.
His scores in the 14th and 64th minutes had given Creighton (5-1-2, 2-0-0) a two-score cushion.
Simon Megally and Caleb Pothast teamed up on a nice connection to ignite the home side's comeback attempt. Pothast found Rodriguez with a nice cross and the senior midfielder found the net for his fourth goal of the season.
DePaul (5-3-2, 0-2-2) will look to bounce back next Saturday with a BIG EAST road match against Villanova.
