DePaul Finishes Day One at Indiana Relays

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ââ'¬" Day one of the Indiana Relays closed with a pair of Blue Demons qualifying for a Saturday final and new personal bests.
Shayna Nwokenkwo posted the third-best time on the night in the women's 60m dash. The senior won heat two with a time of 7.72 to earn the guaranteed spot into Saturday's final.
Scott Arsenault set a new personal best in the men's 600m with a time of 1:21.40. Arsenault posted the fourth-best time and finished second in his heat.
Alexia Harvey just made the cut in the women's 60m hurdles by taking 8th at 8.82. Harvey placed second in her heat behind Jessica Duckett of Tulane at 8.68.
In the men's 5000m run, Alex Campanella and Jake Pecorin placed in the top eight by earning personal records. Campanella claimed sixth with a time of 15:01.04, while Pecorin crossed the line at 15:24.59.
Caroline Muller reached a new season-best height in the women's high jump after leaping over 1.65 meters. Muller placed sixth overall and tied with three others in the event.
Kyle Hedge earned a top-ten finish in the men's shot put with a distance of 15.54 meters. Hedge reached that mark on his first throw and bested 13 other competitors.
Paige Skorseth took eighth in the women's 5000m event. The senior crossed the finish line with a time of 18:02.64 in her season debut of the event.
Day two of the Indiana Relays begins at 8:20 a.m. CT with Sydnee Matthew in the women's 60m hurdles as part of the pentathlon.
