Blue Demons Drop Road Game at Seton Hall

NEWARK, N.J. -- Seton Hall used an 18-4 run to start the second half in an 87-56 win over DePaul on Saturday. Billy Garrett Jr. led the Blue Demons with 22 points.
The Blue Demons and Pirates played even over the first 15 minutes of the game before Seton Hall started to pull away and led 41-31 at halftime. Garrett led the Blue Demons with 13 first-half points.
After Desi Rodriguez led Seton Hall (12-3, 2-1 BIG EAST) with 23 points in the first half, Angel Delgado took over the second half with eight points in the first eight minutes after intermission.
Garrett was the lone player in double-figures for the Blue Demons and he added three steals and two rebounds to his 22 points. Eli Cain added nine points and Tre'Darius McCallum finished with seven points and five rebounds.
Rodriguez led all scorers with 25 points and Delgado finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
DePaul (7-9, 0-3 BIG EAST) returns to Allstate Arena on Tuesday night against Providence. Start time in Rosemont is scheduled for 8 p.m. on FS1 and WSCR 670 AM.
Postgame Notes
- DePaul scored a season-low 56 points.
- Billy Garrett Jr. moved up two spots on DePaul's all-time scoring list... he passed No. 18 Stanley Brundy and No. 17 Tyrone Corbin on Saturday afternoon... Garrett now has 1,396 points and is 17th on the scoring list.
- Seton Hall leads the series, 13-6... the Pirates have won three straight meetings in the series... the two teams meet later this season on Feb. 25 at Allstate Arena.
