CHICAGO - DePaul guards Rebekah Dahlman and Jolene Daninger will be sidelined indefinitely as both women's basketball players undergo rehabilitation to recover from their injuries.
Dahlman, a fifth-year transfer and graduate student from Vanderbilt, sustained a broken left hand in the season opener against Northern Colorado.
Dahlman played 17 minutes in the Nov. 10 loss to Northern Colorado, making two of three shots and grabbing a pair of rebounds before the injury. She had surgery to repair her hand five days later.
Dahlman missed 22 games her freshman season at Vanderbilt with a blood clot that required multiple medical procedures.
She bounced back her redshirt freshman season and was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team. Dahlman missed a number of games in her final season with the Commodores last year while overcoming a sprained ankle, a hamstring injury and a concussion.
Daninger is a highly touted freshman and perimeter sharpshooter who is battling a systemic disorder. Last year at Andover (Minn.) High School, Daninger was a finalist for Miss Minnesota Basketball averaging 19.4 points, six rebounds and four assists.
DePaul has a big Sunday showdown at No. 2/2 Notre Dame that will tip off at noon Central Time. The game will be shown on ACC Network Extra and an online broadcast can be heard on Blue Tube.
