Zoch Named BIG EAST Softball Pitcher of the Week

NEW YORK - For the first time this season, DePaul softball's Missy Zoch was named BIG EAST Softball Pitcher of the Week, as announced by league officials on Monday.
Zoch registered a 0.67 ERA in three appearances in the circle over the weekend at the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C. She struck out 25 batters in 21.0 innings.
Zoch helped DePaul to a 5-0 overall finish at the tournament where the squad faced Cleveland State and Winthrop. She pitched one complete game against Cleveland State and two against Winthrop.
In DePaul's first game against the Eagles, Zoch struck out nine and allowed two runs in the 7-2 victory.
She allowed just three hits and struck out five the next day in a 4-0 win over Cleveland State.
For the Blue Demons' final game against Winthrop, Zoch recorded a season best 11 strikeouts. She allowed four hits and one run.
Dylan Christensen was named to the Weekly Honor Roll for her performance in the five games. The senior recorded a .412 batting average, going 7-for-17 at the plate that included a double in the first game against Cleveland State and a homer in the final game against Winthrop.
DePaul returns to the field this weekend in Las Vegas for the Rebel Classic hosted by UNLV March 9-11. The Blue Demons face New Mexico State, UNLV, Portland State and Southern Illinois.
