Blue Demons Finish Final Regular Season Meet

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The DePaul track & field teams finished their final regular season meet of the season at the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational on Saturday with multiple finishes on the podium.
Will Hauser kicked off the day for the Blue Demons by winning the men's javelin. The sophomore hit the winning throw on his sixth and final attempt when he reached 52.92 meters. That mark was a personal best by over five meters.
Dylan Marshall and Morgan Maize took second and third place, respectively, in the women's javelin. Marshall hit a distance of 42.03 meters on her fourth throw to earn the runner-up spot.
Shayna Nwokenkwo matched her personal best in the women's 100m dash when she hit 11.87. The senior finished third overall in the event out of 26 total sprinters.
Trevor Kintyhtt finished second overall in the men's discus throw when he finished at 53.86 meters. The senior placed second overall with a distance of 53.86 meters. Dominic Marshall also placed in the top-10 with a distance of 48.32 meters.
"There were lots of personal records by the team today," said head coach Dave Dopek. "The men's and women's 400m hurdles had good performances today."
Jarvis Hill finished in third overall in the men's 400m hurdles when he crossed the finish line at 53.62. Hill was less than a half second off the event winner while recording his personal best time in the event.
Sebastian Feyersinger had a podium finish in the 400m dash when he finished in third overall. The junior earned a time of 47.78 in the event to earn third place overall. Chaz Bottoms took seventh overall in 49.06 to earn the second-fastest time for the Blue Demons.
"Sebastian Feyersinger and Laura Edwards in the 400m, Shayna Nwokenkwo in the 100m dash and Will Hauser in the javelin had strong performances on the day." stated Dopek. "With just a couple of weeks to go until conference, both teams took a big step toward gearing up for a big weekend. Two weeks to train, fine tune and be ready to peak at the right time."
Chris Korabik recorded a podium finish in the men's 1500m after finishing third overall. The junior had a PR of 3:49.03 to outrun 29 other competitors. Sal Wright finished 10th overall at 3:59.07.
Brian Mada finished third overall in the men's triple jump when he reached 14.94 meters. The sophomore just missed the 15-meter mark on his way to earning a podium spot.
Paige Skorseth finished the women's 5000m on the podium when she finished at 18:52.40. She placed third overall out of 14 runners.
Alex Campanella earned a runner-up finish in the men's 3000m steeplechase when he finished at 9:36.80. Daniel Peterson finished right behind Campanella at 9:41.51 to finish third overall.
Caroline Muller jumped over 1.60 meters to finish tied for fifth overall. Muller reached the height for the third time this season.
Scott Arsenault claimed a time of 1:54.93 in the men's 800m for DePaul. Arsenault recorded a season-best time and was the only Blue Demon in the top 10 overall.
Ariel Davis finished in the top five for the women's 100m hurdles. Davis crossed the finish line with a season-best time of 14.23, despite fighting the strong winds.
Saturday marked the final regular season meet for the Blue Demons. The BIG EAST Championships are up next for DePaul on May 12 and 13.
