
Blue Demons Fall at Georgetown

WASHINGTON, D.C. - DePaul women's tennis dropped its match 4-3 at Georgetown on Saturday afternoon.
The loss snapped a six-match winning streak for the Blue Demons (10-7, 1-2 BIG EAST).
Georgetown grabbed the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. The No. 89 tandem of Yuliya Shupenia and Aspasia Avgeri defeated Sydney Goodson and Risa Nakagawa 7-5 at No. 1.
Avgeri finished the day 2-0 with a victory at No. 4 singles. She defeated Cecilia Lynham 7-5, 6-2.
Keisha Clousing added a point at No. 2 singles with a 6-1, 7-5 finish over Sara Swift.
Florence Abbott recorded DePaul's third point at No. 5 after her match against Sydney Goodson was retired.
DePaul returns to action next weekend for two more matches. The Blue Demons take on Butler on Saturday, April 15 at 3 p.m. and head to Kalamazoo, Mich. on Sunday, April 16 for a 1 p.m. CT match.
