The men's and women's seniors are determined to make final statement.

CARMEL, IND. — The DePaul men's and women's cross country teams are set to race at the BIG EAST Championships. The meet will be held at the Northview Church Course in Carmel, Ind. Butler University will serve as the championship host. The Blue Demons start the meet with the women's squad in the 6K race at 10:00 a.m. followed by the men's 8K run at 10:50 a.m.

The women hope to improve on their ninth place finish at last year's championship meet in Somers, Wis. Ericka Burgess, Maret Elgren, Margaret Hastings, Kate Jacobs, Caroline Kurdej, Mackenzie Mescher, Courtney Pickering and Talia Saleh will make up the roster for the women.

Kurdej looks to finish her senior year strong as she has been a top-three finisher for the Blue Demons in all of the races in which she has participated. Newcomer Elgren has also been a standout in the women's squad this season and anticipates to continue the trend in Indiana.

On the men's side, Dominic Bruce, Noah Desk, Conor Fagan, Matthew Gagen, Henry Harper, Shane Knanishu, Jeremy Lozano, Charlie McIntyre and Ryan Taylor will pave the course for DePaul. After two consecutive sixth-place finishes, seniors Deck and Lozano are determined to make a final statement.

The duo has been top-three finishers for the Blue Demon squad for the last four meets. Deck had a standout performance at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational at Montrose Beach and Lozano placed 38^th at the highly-competitive National Catholic Invite in Notre Dame, Ind.
