Blue Demons Conclude Fall Schedule Against Loyola-Chicago

DePaul defeated Loyola, 13-11, in first match of annual series last season
CHICAGO - The DePaul golf team wraps up the fall portion of the 2018-19 schedule with a match against Loyola-Chicago on Monday. The event will be played between the two sides at the Evanston Golf Club on Monday following an alumni competition on Sunday.

The event is scheduled for 18 holes of match play as the two schools meet to conclude the fall schedule for the second straight year. The first match in 2017 saw DePaul post a 13-11 win over the Ramblers. Start time is 10 a.m. at Evanston Golf Club with the scoring format for each match consisting of three possible points – a point for the front nine, a point for the back nine and a point for the round.

All eight members of the DePaul golf team will be in action on Monday. Joe McCarthy leads the Blue Demons this season with a 72.92 scoring average while leading the team in two of four tournament this season. He is followed by Campbell Wolf (73.25), Charlie Spencer-White (74.89) and Bobby Thomas (74.89).

Fall Recap: EKU Intercollegiate – Campbell Wolf led DePaul in his first collegiate event... Wolf (214, 4) finished in a tie for 13th... Joe McCarthy posted the best round by a Blue Demon with a 69 (-1) in the second round... DePaul finished 14th out of 15 teams. SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational – Joe McCarthy (213, E) and Campbell Wolf (214, 1) posted top 20 finishes to lead DePaul... McCarthy finished in a tie for seventh while Wolf was in a group in 11th place... as a team, the Blue Demons finished sixth among the 17 programs. Flyer Invitational – Joe McCarthy (220, +7) finished in a tie for 20th for his second top 25 finish of the season... Charlie Spencer-White (222, +9) was tied for 30th place... the Blue Demons finished 11th out of 12 teams competing. Musketeers Classic – DePaul finished seventh out of 13 teams... Bobby Thomas (221, +8) led the Blue Demons with a tie for 23rd place... Joe McCarthy (223, +10), posted a 69 (-2) in the third round and finished in a group in 32nd place.

Looking Ahead: DePaul's final event of the fall schedule is Monday's dual match against Loyola-Chicago. The spring slate opens on Feb. 11-12 at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play hosted by Ball State in Dade City, Fla.
