Blue Demons and Ramblers close fall portion of schedule with annual match

SKOKIE, Ill. – The DePaul golf team dropped a match against Loyola-Chicago by a score of 15.5-11.5 in the second year of the Chi-Town Showdown at Evanston Country Club. DePaul won the first match in 2017 before the Ramblers took the annual match on Monday.

The scoring format at Evanston Golf Club featured three potential points in each of the nine matches between the Blue Demons and Ramblers.Three points were available with a point for the winner of the front nine, the winner of the back nine and overall winner.

Grant Boyson, Carlo Antonio Gatmaytan and Ronnie Griggs each captured a win for the Blue Demons. Gatmaytan took 2.5 points out of three in his match while Boyson and Griggs each won two of three possible points.

The event is the last competition for the Blue Demons until February. DePaul starts the spring schedule on Feb. 11-12 at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play in Dade City, Fla. It is the first of five events leading up to the BIG EAST Championship at the end of April.
