Senior Noah Deck looks to finish last season strong
PEORIA, ILL. – The DePaul men's and women's cross country teams are set to represent the Blue Demons on that national stage at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 9. The women are set for a 6k race at 11:00 a.m., followed by the men's 10k race at noon. An award ceremony will conclude the meet after the finish of the men's race.
Â
The highly-competitive meet will bring along fierce competition as the field includes four conference champions on the men's side (Bradley, Iowa State, Tulsa and South Dakota State) as well as four conference championships on the women's side (Bradley, Iowa State, South Dakota and Wichita State). In total, over 30 teams will be competing on both the men's and women's races.
Â
The meet, hosted by Bradley, will be held at the Newman Golf Course which was the site of the Bradley Pink Classic held on Oct. 12.
Â
At last season's NCAA Midwest Regional, the men took 24th place with 692 points and were led by then-junior Noah Deck (31:09.38). Deck has been a top Blue Demon finisher this season with top-three finishes among the squad in every race. Deck looks to finish his year strong and is joined alongside Conor Fagan, Henry Harper, Shane Knanishu, Charlie McIntyre and Ryan Taylor.
Â
Making up the women's squad will be Maret Elgren, Margaret Hastings, Kate Jacobs, Caroline Kurdej, Mackenzie Mescher and Courtney Pickering. Kurdej looks to finish out the year strong as she has finished in the top two spots among the Blue Demons in the races in which she has competed.
