Three things to watch for tonight at 7 p.m.
CHICAGO – Looking to improve to 6-0 at home and 16-0 in the all-time series with Chicago State, the Blue Demons host the Cougars at 7 p.m. this evening at Wintrust Arena. Here are three stats and storylines to get you ready for the game.
Efficiency on The Inside: Through seven games, Blue Demon big men Jaylen Butz and Femi Olujobi have ranked as two of the most efficient scorers in the BIG EAST. Olujobi's .681 shooting percentage from the floor and Butz's .611 place them third and fifth in the conference for a Blue Demon team that is currently tied for sixth in the BIG EAST with a .453 team shooting percentage.
Taking Care of The Ball: For DePaul, Eli Cain continues to lead the BIG EAST with an outstanding 2.83 to 1, assist to turnover ratio. The fourth-year combo guard is also tied for first in the conference in assists per game at 4.9.
Enter if You Dare: With the sophomore duo of Paul Reed and Jaylen Butz, the Blue Demons boast two of the top 14 shot blockers in the conference. Reed's bouncy 6'9" frame and great timing has helped the Orlando, Fla. native to a 1.57 blocks per game average, good for second in the BIG EAST, while Butz has also patrolled the paint to great effectiveness, averaging 0.71 blocks per game, good for 14th in the conference.
