Men's Basketball Welcomes St. John's to Wintrust Arena

CHICAGO - DePaul hosts St. John's on Wednesday night at Wintrust Arena in the lone home game of a four-game stretch. The Blue Demons opened the four-game run with an impressive 17-point win at Providence on Saturday that saw DePaul lead by as many as 31 points in the second half. St. John's enters the game on a three-game win streak that includes victories over Duke, Villanova and Marquette. DePaul travels back east this weekend for back-to-back road games at Seton Hall on Feb. 18 and Villanova on Feb. 21.
Wednesday's game will be televised on CBS Sports Network with Carter Blackburn (play-by-play) and Pete Gillen (analyst) handling the television duties. DePaul's radio tandem of Zach Zaidman (play-by-play) and Laurence Holmes (analyst) can be heard on WIND 560 AM as well as online on BlueTube at www.depaulbluedemons.com. The Blue Demons stand at 10-14 overall and 3-9 in league play after the 80-63 win at Providence on Saturday. DePaul head coach Dave Leitao is in his sixth season at DePaul and his third since returning to the program after leading the Blue Demons three postseasons in three years from 2002-05. Overall, the 2017-18 campaign is Leitao's 12th as a head coach at the collegiate level. St. John's is led by Chris Mullin who is in his third season leading the Red Storm.

DePaul, St. John's and Niagara were founded in the 19th century in the United States and Adamson University, located in Manila, Philippines, was acquired by the Vincentians in 1964.

Strus was selected on Dec. 18 after averaging 23.5 points per game against Alabama A&M and Northwestern. In addition to averaging 23.5 points per game.
Maric averaged 21.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in games against Georgetown and St. John's and was honored on Jan. 8. He added a second weekly honor on Feb. 12 after averaging 20.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in games against Creighton and Providence.
Cain earned the weekly honor on Jan. 29 for the third time in his career after averaging 19.0 points and 4.5 assists per game against Georgetown and Seton Hall. He scored a season-high 27 points and sank the game-winner on DePaul's final possession in a 74-73 win at Georgetown.
