DePaul Welcomes UIC Tuesday

CHICAGO - Following an exciting overtime win in Des Moines Friday, the men's soccer team is ready to be back at Wish Field on Tuesday as they host the UIC Flames on Wish Field at 3:00 p.m. for their first contest this week.

DePaul (3-2) - who has beaten Drake two years in a row - is already off to a better start just five games into the season compared to 2017. By this time last year, the Blue Demons posted a record of 2-3. Head coach Mark Plotkin and his crew, Tyler Keever and Cole Bushue, have had their work cut out for them, turning the program around in such a short time. Looking towards Tuesday's game, Plotkin has nothing but positive thoughts.

"I am very excited for our team. Their ability to battle back and respond to adversity is something I am so proud of," Plotkin said after the win at Drake. "We'll enjoy this win tonight and get back to work tomorrow preparing for our first Chicago Derby against UIC Tuesday."

The Blue Demons are behind in the all-time series against the Flames, 11-15-3. Last year's August matchup saw a double overtime 3-2 loss for DePaul. The Flames return 9 starters from their 11-6-3 2017 season in which they were crowned champions of the Horizon League. Head coach Sean Phillips added eight newcomers to his bench for his ninth season at the helm of the program. The Flames also have two consecutive appearances in the NCAA tournament (2016, 2017).
