Blue Demons and Pirates meet at Wintrust Arena at Noon
CHICAGO – Coming off a narrow 73-68 loss at Villanova on Wednesday, the Blue Demons look to get their first win of BIG EAST play as they welcome Seton Hall to Wintrust Arena for a noon tip this afternoon. Here are three stats and storylines to get you ready for the game.
Strus And Cain Upping Their Efficiency: In their second year playing together, seniors Max Strus and Eli Cain have each improved their scoring efficiency from last season to this season. For Strus his field goal percentage is up from .408 to .421 while his three-point percentage is up from .333 to .351. For Cain, his field goal percentage is up from .348 to .435 while his three-point percentage is up from .313 to .397.
Checking In Two Games Into Conference Play: Two games into the BIG EAST schedule, Eli Cain leads the Blue Demons with 15 points per game in conference play along with averages of 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and one steal in 36.5 minutes per game. Max Strus has averaged 13 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in the two conference games while Paul Reed has contributed 12.5 points and seven rebounds per game.
Blue Demons Cleaning Up The Boards: After out rebounding Villanova 36-24 this past Wednesday, the Blue Demons have now out rebounded their opponents 66-57 in two BIG EAST games. On the season DePaul is out rebounding the opposition by a margin of 512-417.
