Noah Kolar wins two matches to lead Blue Demons on Monday

SKOKIE, Ill. – The DePaul golf team concluded the first half of the season with a 13-11 loss against Loyola-Chicago in the third edition of the Chi-Town Showdown. Noah Kolar posted two match play wins while Conor Glennon and Stephen Sul each claimed victories.

DePaul won the first match in 2017 before the Ramblers claimed the last two editions of the annual fall showdown between the programs.

The scoring format at Evanston Golf Club featured three potential points in each of the matches between the Blue Demons and Ramblers. Three points were available with a point for the winner of the front nine, the winner of the back nine and overall winner.

Due to roster sizes, Noah Kolar competed against two opponents and won both matches. He defeated Devin Johnson with 2.5 points and Nolan Doherty with 3.0 points. Glennon tallied 2.5 points in his match while Sul won 2.0 points. Ronnie Griggs, Grant Boyson, Perry Chong and Nik Gatmaytan each dropped their matches.

The event is the last competition for the Blue Demons until February. DePaul starts the spring schedule on Feb. 10-11 at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play in Dade City, Fla. It is the first of six events leading up to the BIG EAST Championship at the beginning of May.
