Cross Country Travels to Penultimate Meet of Season

The Blue Demons will see one of the largest races of the season on Saturday, Oct. 5
CHICAGO – DePaul cross country travels to the 18th Annual Live in Lou Cross Country Classic, hosted by Louisville, in its penultimate meet of the season. The men's squad is set for an 8:30 a.m. start time in the 8K, followed by the women's 5K race at 9:15 a.m. CT.

In what is set to be its largest race of the season, the DePaul men's squad will see conference rivals Marquette and Xavier, among a field including: Kentucky, Mississippi State, Ohio, Samford, Vanderbilt, West Texas A&M and 29 others.

The women's pack will see also see the Golden Eagles and Musketeers, along with teams including: Ball State, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Mississippi St., Ohio, Samford, Vanderbilt and 27 other teams.

Lacing up for competition for the men are Dominic Bruce, Noah Deck, Henry Harper, Shane Knanishu, Charlie McIntyre, Michael Parry and Ryan Taylor. Last week, the men's squad was led by McIntyre who had an impressive 25th-place finish overall. Harper set a personal best with an impressive 26:00.1 finish in the 8K.

Freshman Violet Harper also set a personal best with a time of 19:05.6 in the 5K race along the Chicago lakefront. She and Olivia Borowiak, Maret Elgren, Jessica Harris, Maragret Hastings, Alexa Havon and Courtney Pickering are slated to race for the Blue Demons. Pickering led the DePaul women's team last weekend, crossing the finish line at the 18:57.8 mark.
