Cross Country Travels to NCAA Regionals in Stillwater

The women are set for a 10:30 a.m. 6K followed by the men's 10K at 11:30 a.m. CT
CHICAGO – After closing out BIG EAST competition two weeks ago, the Blue Demon men's and women's cross country teams are set to represent DePaul on the national stage at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 15. The women are slated to begin the 6K championship competition at 10:30 a.m. with the men following at 11:30 a.m. in the 10K championship race.

The high-level meet will see three ranked teams in the men's and women's race with the men facing No. 5 Iowa State, No. 7 Tulsa and No. 23 Oklahoma State. The women will see No. 22 Illinois, No. 25 Oklahoma State and No. 26 Minnesota in the pack. The Cyclones took home the title in the regionals last season on both the men's and women's side.

The meet, hosted by the Cowboys, will be held at the Oklahoma State University Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Okla.Â

Seniors Henry Harper and Noah Deck look for strong finishes after leading the Blue Demons in multiple races this season and will be joined by teammates Dominic Bruce, Ryan Taylor, Ryan Bonfiglio and Shane Knanishu. The men's 10,000-meter race will see conference foe Creighton and Chicago-area rivals Loyola and UIC among 28 others.

Competing in a larger field, the women's squad will be led by veteran Courtney Pickering who will be joined by Alexa Havon, Violet Harper, Olivia Borowiak, Kate Jacobs, Margaret Hastings and Maret Elgren. Chicagoland competition will be in attendance with Loyola, UIC and Northwestern along with league rival Creighton and 30 other teams.
