DePaul Drops to Marquette

CHICAGO - The Blue Demons are now 11-15Â (3-12Â BIG EAST) after falling to Marquette in three sets 0-3 (21-25, 22-25, 21-25) Saturday evening.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE » DePaul got on board first on a service ace from Elana Brueggemann and DePaul took as much as a 9-5 but the score eventually knotted at 10-10. From there, Marquette had a burst of momentum and led by 22-13. A late 3-0 run brought DePaul within three but the Golden Eagles went on to take the first set 25-21.
SET TWO » The Blue Demons once again got on board first on a Brittany Maxwell kill but fell behind until a 5-5 tie in the score. It was a back and forth battle for the remainder of the set until Marquette jumped ahead taking the second set 25-22.
SET THREE » It was a close battle with the lead exchanging back and forth up until a 14-14 tie. From there, the Golden Eagles took back the lead and took the final set 25-21.

DePaul hosts Villanova Friday, Nov. 15 for a 7 p.m. contest.
