Â
Demon Doings: Notes following DePaul's 86-65 win against UIC on Dec. 14:
Â
It Could Happen: A win would be DePaul's fourth on the road this season... the last time the Blue Demons won four non-conference road games was the 1993-94 season... that team won at Jacksonville, TCU, Houston and Notre Dame... Jalen Coleman-Lands need three three-pointers for 200 in his career (158 at Illinois/39 at DePaul).
Â
Noting the Blue Demons: The men's basketball program is 1,477-1,025 (.590) all-time... the Blue Demons have knocked down at least one three-pointer in 817 straight games... DePaul's last game without a three was over 25 years ago on Feb. 16, 1993 against UAB at Allstate Arena... the current streak started against Notre Dame on Feb. 21, 1993... DePaul's eight games from Nov. 5-29 were the most in program history for the month of November... the Blue Demons played seven games in November 2012 and six each in November 2013 and 2006... over the last nine-plus seasons (since start of 2010-11 season), DePaul is 20-6 against Chicagoland opponents (Chicago State, UIC, Loyola-Chicago, Northern Illinois, Northwestern)... in the last 19-plus seasons (since the start of 2000-01 season), the record against locals is 34-12... the Blue Demons face UIC (Dec. 14) and Northwestern (Dec. 21) this season.
Â
The Opponent - Cleveland State Vikings: Cleveland State is 4-7 overall this season... the Vikings have dropped their last three games including a 72-58 decision at Bowling Green on Sunday... Algevon Eichelberger leads the team with 12.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game in eight games... Tre Gomillion adds 9.8 points per game... head coach Dennis Gates is in his first season at Cleveland State.
Â
The Series: Wednesday is the third meeting between the two programs with each side claiming a victory... DePaul evened the series last season with an 83-73 win at Wintrust Arena... Cleveland State won the first meeting between the two sides during the 1985-86 season... the Vikings recorded a 90-75 victory on Jan. 15, 1986 at the Rosemont Horizon.
Â
Against the Horizon League: DePaul is 64-14 against the current membership of the Horizon League... Detroit Mercy is the most common opponent with the Blue Demons holding a 29-7 lead in that series... the Blue Demons haven't faced Northern Kentucky or Oakland...
