Blue Demons and Friars meet for second time in a week
CHICAGO - DePaul returns to Wintrust Arena for a Saturday afternoon game against Providence. This weekend is Hall of Fame weekend at DePaul and the induction Class of 2019 will be recognized at halftime of the game. Among the inductees are men's basketball alumni Andre Brown (2000-04) and Lance Williams (1998-02). Start time at Wintrust Arena between the Blue Demons and Friars is set for 1:30 p.m.
Saturday's game will be televised on FS1 with Jeff Levering (play-by-play) and Stephen Howard (analyst) handling the television duties. The game can also be seen online via the FOX Sports Go app and at foxsportsgo.com. DePaul's radio tandem of Zach Zaidman (play-by-play) and Jeff Blanzy (analyst) can be heard on WYLL 1160 AM as well as online on DePaul All-Access at www.depaulbluedemons.com. Providence is 13-8 overall this season and 3-5 in BIG EAST play. The Friars enter Saturday's contest following a 65-63 loss at Seton Hall on Wednesday. The Blue Demons are 11-9 and 3-6 in the BIG EAST after Wednesday's 86-74 loss against No. 14/14 Villanova. DePaul head coach Dave Leitao is in his seventh season at DePaul and his fourth since returning to the program after leading the Blue Demons three postseasons in three years from 2002-05. Overall, the 2018-19 campaign is Leitao's 13th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Providence is led by Ed Cooley who is in his eighth season leading the Friars and 13th season overall as a head coach at the collegiate level.
