McCarthy and Gatmaytan post victories in morning match in Florida
DADE CITY, Fla. – The DePaul golf team dropped a closely contested match to Ball State in the opening round of the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play on Monday morning. Joe McCarthy and Carlo Antonio Gatmaytan posted victories, but the Blue Demons lost the match by a score of 3.5-2.5.
McCarthy won his match 5&4 while Gatmaytan posted a 4&3 victory. Campbell Wolf's match finished all square and Charlie Spencer-White (4&2), Bobby Thomas (2&1) and Grant Boyson (2&1) each dropped their matches.
DePaul continues play in the Yestingsmeier on Monday afternoon against Drake. Live scoring of the match is available at GolfStat.com.
