Paul Reed Grabs Second BIG EAST Weekly Honor

The BIG EAST's top rebounder earns recognition for second in three weeks
CHICAGO – DePaul sophomore Paul Reed continued his strong play and earned his second BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll mention on Monday. Reed averaged 12.0 points and 10.5 rebounds in games against Villanova and Providence.
In the two games, the sophomore averaged 12.0 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting .438 (7-16) from the field, .500 (1-2) from three-point range and a perfect 7-for-7 from free throw line. Reed grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds against Providence to go with a team-high 18 points and added two steals, an assist and a blocked shot. Against Villanova, he totaled six points and six rebounds with a blocked shot and a steal.
The double-double against Providence was his fourth of the season. In conference play, Reed leads the BIG EAST with 9.6 rebounds per game and his league scoring average of 15.8 points per game is ranked 11th. He also leads all players with 6.5 defensive rebounds per game and is second with a .944 (34-36) free throw percentage and 3.1 offensive rebounds per game. In all games, Reed is the BIG EAST's top rebounder with 8.2 rebounds per game while his scoring average of 11.7 points per game is ranked 25th.
Reed and DePaul continue the BIG EAST schedule on Saturday night at Xavier before hosting Marquette next Tuesday at Wintrust Arena. The Blue Demons and Musketeers meet in Cincinnati at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday. The Marquette game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. CT start at Wintrust Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
