Out of the break, the Hoyas would pull within 17 points, but DePaul quickly righted the ship, re-extending their lead to 23 points with 14:21 to play on a corner three from Cain. Over the next six minutes, the Hoyas would cut the lead once more to 15, but again DePaul had an answer as a Strus three pushed the lead all the way to 28 points with 7:57 left in the action.
From that point on, the result was never in question as DePaul led by as many as 38 points down the stretch. With under two minutes left, the Blue Demons substituted their seniors out to standing ovations as the Wintrust Arena crowd made its appreciation known one last time.
James Akinjo and Mac McClung who each finished with 13 points led Georgetown.
