Personal Records Highlight Success at Gibson Invite

CHICAGO - Multiple personal records and first place finishes were the highlight of DePaul Track & Field's weekend outing at the Gibson Invitational. Sophomore Kiersten Walker earned the top spot for the second weekend in a row in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.17 along with the 200-meter dash at the meet hosted by Indiana State.
Two freshman set personal records in Terre Haute over the weekend. Isabel Ingram set hers in the women's 100-meter hurdle finals with a time of 13.94 rounding out the top-three spots, while Lorie Cashdollar finished the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.
Among the competition were the likes of Bradley, BIG EAST rival Butler, Eastern Illinois, Indiana State, Northern Illinois Northwood, Southeastern Missouri, and Valparaiso. The Blue Demons claimed the third and fourth place in women's and men's events respectively.
Seniors Jade Nolan placed in the top-three in the triple jump and Caroline Kurdej earned the third-place spot in the 1500-meter run.
Wrapping up the field events on the women's side, juniors Rebecca Chouinard took home the bronze in the hammer throw and Dylan Marshall earned silver in the javelin throw.
On the men's side, senior Chris Cadet set another personal record with his 6.93-meter long jump and placed third in the triple jump. William Hauser added to the Blue Demon accolades earning a first place finish in the javelin throw.
Turning things onto the track, the men's 200-meter dash saw three DePaul athletes within seconds of each other: sophomore Brendan Van Vorhis (21.83), senior Isaac Walker (22.02) and sophomore Kolani Cole (22.18). Rounding out the rest of the events, Ashton Colaire earned third place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.44 and freshman Henry Larkin would take home the gold in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.65.

The Blue Demon men's and women's squads will prepare for the Illini Twilight Invitational next weekend and take a short trip down to Urbana-Champaign on April 16.
