Hsu joins Blue Demons ahead of upcoming European trip
CHICAGO – DePaul head coach Dave Leitao announced today that Marc Hsu has joined the staff as an assistant coach. Hsu spent the last two seasons at Western Kentucky with previous stops at Binghamton, Texas Southern, CSU Bakersfield and New Mexico State.
"I'm excited to add Marc to my coaching staff," said Leitao. "His contacts and energy will help increase our recruiting efforts nationally and abroad. Marc has worked with some tremendous coaches and our players will benefit from those experiences while adding new ideas as we continue to build on our success here at DePaul."
In his two seasons at Western Kentucky, the Hilltoppers won 47 games and advanced to the semifinals of the 2018 NIT. Hsu spent the 2016-17 season at New Mexico State, where he helped the Aggies to a 28-6 record, a 20-game winning streak and the WAC Tournament Championship.
Hsu spent three seasons (2013-16) at CSU Bakersfield and helped earn the program's first NCAA Tournament berth since transitioning to Division I. Before his time at CSUB, he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Texas Southern (2010-12) and was an assistant coach from 2008-10 at Binghamton.
His assistant coaching career began at Barton County Community College in 2005-06, where he helped coach four players that moved on to the Division I level. He was also the volunteer assistant men's basketball coach at Cabrini College in 2003-04. The Queens, N.Y., native received his degree in business administration with a minor in sports science from Cabrini College.
