Blue Demons Open Road Swing at Georgetown

WASHINGTON D.C. – DePaul men's basketball opens a weeklong road swing Wednesday, Jan. 28 against Georgetown from the nation's capital. The Blue Demons and Hoyas face off in a 7:30 p.m. CT tip on FS1 with Chris Vosters and Phil Martelli on the broadcast call. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have the radio call on Sirius XM and the DePaul Blue Demons app.
LAST TIME OUT
DePaul (12-8, 4-5 BIG EAST) won its fourth-straight contest at home with a Saturday win over Seton Hall, 67-60. As a team, DePaul totaled 10 blocks for the most in a single game since 2023. The Blue Demons opened to a 30-20 halftime lead, their largest in conference play this season, and never let up on its way to the victory.
CJ Gunn led DePaul in scoring for the sixth time this season with 19 points, adding a career-high four blocks along with three rebounds and three assists. The senior is averaging 15.6 points against conference opponents at a 44.9 percent clip, which ranks eighth among all BIG EAST players. NJ Benson pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds for his 20th career double-digit rebound game.

Georgetown leads the all-time series, 35-17; however, DePaul has won the last four meetings, including a 56-50 win at Wintrust Arena earlier this season. In that game, DePaul's defense was dominant holding Georgetown to an NCAA tying record one second half field goal. Brandon Maclin recorded his first career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Benson tied a program best BIG EAST record with 16 rebounds.
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
Georgetown (10-10, 2-7 BIG EAST) snapped a six-game skid Saturday with an 81-78 comeback road victory against Providence. The Hoyas were led by KJ Lewis with 26 points, while Vince Iwuchukwu contributed 16 points and four rebounds as the Hoyas mounted a second-half rally.
Lewis leads Georgetown with 15.3 points per game, while also adding 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. As a team, Georgetown ranks among the top-25 nationally in fewest turnovers per game. Both DePaul and the Hoyas are top-5 in the BIG EAST at free throw attempts per game, each averaging over 23 per contest.
