Brittany Maxwell registers 26 kills in four-set victory
CHICAGO – The DePaul volleyball team knocked off Central Michigan, 3-1, on Friday night to open the this weekend's DePaul Invitational at McGrath-Phillips Arena. Brittany Maxwell led the Blue Demons with 26 kills in the four-set victory.
DePaul took the first set by a score of 25-23 before a marathon second set that ended with the Blue Demons holding a 35-33 victory. Central Michigan took the third set by a score of 25-18 just ahead of DePaul closing out the match with a 25-19 decision.
Saturday's action starts at 10 a.m. with Central Michigan and Valparaiso facing off before DePaul takes on Holy Cross at 12:30 p.m. The final two matches of the DePaul Invitational are at 4:30 p.m. when Central Michigan plays Holy Cross and DePaul hosts Valparaiso at 8 p.m.
