Blue Demons Continue Schedule at NKU Fall Classic

DePaul one of 15 teams playing Monday and Tuesday in Union, Ky.
CHICAGO – The Blue Demons continue the first half of the 2019-20 season with the NKU Fall Classic on Monday and Tuesday. The three-round, two-day event takes place at Lassing Pointe GC in Union, Ky., and features 12 teams in the tournament hosted by Northern Kentucky.
The field consists of host Northern Kentucky as the Norse welcome DePaul along with Chicago State, Detroit Mercy, Evansville, Green Bay, Longwood, Morehead State, Robert Morris, St. Francis (Pa.), Thomas More and West Virginia. Robert Morris returns as the defending champions.
DePaul is playing in the NKU Fall Classic for the second time as the Blue Demons finished fifth among 15 teams in the 2017 event. Lassing Pointe GC features a par 71 layout over 6,724 yards. An 8:30 a.m. ET shotgun start opens 36 holes of play on Monday followed by the final round on Tuesday an 8:30 a.m. ET shotgun start. Live scoring is available throughout the event at GolfStat.com.
DePaul's lineup for the NKU Fall Classic includes Nik Gatmaytan, Noah Kolar, Campbell Wolf, Stephen Sul and Perry Chong.
Fall Recap: Crusader Collegiate (Sept. 16-17) – Nik Gatmaytan finished in a tie for sixth that included a 66 (-6) in the third round... the 66 was the lowest score in a round by a DePaul golfer in 15 years... the team placed sixth out of 15 teams... Noah Kolar (t16th), Stephen Sul (t25th) and Campbell Wolf (t25th) each finished in the top 25.
Looking Ahead: Following the NKU Fall Classic, October features three events starting Oct. 14-15 at the Georgetown Intercollegiate followed by Xavier's Musketeer Classic on Oct. 21-22. The final event of the fall schedule is a match against Loyola-Chicago on Oct. 28 at Evanston Golf Club. A day before the match between the Blue Demons and Ramblers, alumni from both programs will play in an alumni match-play event. The 2020 portion of the schedule starts with the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play on Feb. 10-11 in Dade City, Fla.
Dallio Memorial Returns: An event in the memory of former DePaul golfer John Dallio returns to the schedule as DePaul hosts the John Dallio Match Play on April 10. The four-team event will be played at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont as the program hosted a fall tournament in Dallio's name through the 2016-17 season.
