Corzine and Sakamoto look back at their days with Michael Jordan
CHICAGO – The Blue Demon Exchange continues this week with a DePaul connection to The Last Dance documentary that has taken everyone in Chicago and around the country back to the Jordan years of the Chicago Bulls.
With the final chapter of The Last Dance airing on May 17, former Chicago Bull and DePaul alum Dave Corzine along with current assistant director of athletics communications Bob Sakamoto caught up with Sarah Kustok for a quick look back at the early days with Michael Jordan.
Corzine's NBA career spanned from 1978-91 and included seven seasons (1982-89) with the Bulls. Jordan was drafted by the Bulls ahead of the 1984-85 season and the two played together for five seasons. Sakamoto worked at the Chicago Tribune from 1978-2009 and was on the Bulls and NBA beat from 1984-88.
Stay tuned for the next Blue Demon Exchange later this week with basketball student-athletes Charlie Moore and Deja Church along with DePaul public address announcer Gene Honda for a roundtable discussion about life and basketball.
