Cross Country Readies for Bradley Pink Classic

Women's 5K begins at 3 p.m., men's 8K at 3:45 p.m.
CHICAGO – The DePaul cross country squads are set to return to action after a week off following the Live in Lou Classic. The Blue Demons will head south to Peoria, Illinois for the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday, Oct. 15.
The women's "B" race is set to get underway at 1:30 p.m. while the men's "B" race will begin at approximately 2:15 p.m. The women's "A' race takes off at 3 p.m. followed by the men's "A" race at 3:45. Results will be available at depaulbluedemons.com at the conclusion of the race.
All races are set to be run on the Newman Golf Course with the women running a 6K distance and the men going out for an 8K loop.
The men's side will see a 30-team field while the women will be joined by runners from 36 teams. Both races will see fellow BIG EAST programs Creighton, Marquette and Xavier competing.
At the Live in Lou Classic on Saturday, Oct. 2 the Blue Demons were led by junior Olivia Borowiak and senior Shane Knanishu. Borowiak posted the best finish for the women's squad with a 5K time of 17:18.5 to finish 31st. In the men's 8K, Knanishu took 43rd with a mark of 24:17.7. As a team, the women finished 29th out of 44 squads competing while the men saw a 19th-place finish in a 36-team field.
After Friday's race, the Blue Demons will gear up for the 2021 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships set for Friday, Oct. 29 at the Northview Church Course in Carmel, Ind.
