
Tom Tontimonia Invitational On the Tee for Blue Demons

Blue Demons travel to Cleveland for two-day event on Monday and Tuesday
CHICAGO – The DePaul golf team travels to Cleveland for the Tom Tontimonia Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The event hosted by Cleveland State features three rounds over two days at Lakewood Country Club.
Lakewood Country Club in located in Westlake, Ohio and features a par-71 layout over 7,059 yards. Monday's play begins at 9 a.m. ET with a shotgun start for 36 holes followed by tee times starting at 8:45 a.m. ET on Tuesday for the third round. Live scoring is available at GolfStat.com.
Joining the Blue Demons and host Cleveland State are Bowling Green, Butler, Dayton, Detroit Mercy, Green Bay, IUPUI, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne, Robert Morris, Saint Francis (Pa.) and Youngstown State. DePaul's lineup this week includes Noah Kolar, Artemiy Yalovenko, Conor Glennon, Alex Vekich and Nik Gatmaytan.
Fall Slate Features Four Tournaments: DePaul is scheduled to play four events around the Midwest in the first half of the 2021-22 season. Following the opening tournament at the Valpo Fall Invitational, DePaul travels to West Des Moines, Iowa next week for the Zach Johnson Invitational hosted by Drake. Two October events take the Blue Demons to Ohio starting Oct. 4-5 at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational hosted by Cleveland State. The fall schedule concludes on Oct. 18-19 at the Xavier Invitational in Cincinnati.
Looking Back: Valpo Fall Invitational (Sept. 20-21) – The Blue Demons finished eighth out of 12 teams competing in Chesterton, Ind... Artemiy Yalovenko was the top finisher in a tie for 29th at 230 (+14)... Yalovenko and David Griggs posted the best rounds of the event with each recording a 74 (+2) in the third round. Zach Johnson Invitational (Sept. 27-28) – DePaul finished 11th out of 15 teams in West Des Moines, Iowa... Noah Kolar led the team in a tie for 28th with a tournament score of 220 (+7)... Grant Boyson and Nik Gatmaytan each carded a 70 (-1) in the second rounds for the top team rounds of the event.
Spring Slate Starts in February: The second half of the 2021-22 schedules begins on Feb. 7-8 at the East Yestingsmeier Match Play in Dade City, Fla. That event is the first of five events before the annual BIG EAST Championship in Okatie, S.C. from April 29-May 1. The spring schedule takes the Blue Demons to Florida, Arizona, Texas, Alabama and Missouri.
Yalovenko Back as Top Returner: Artemiy Yalovenko was the top performer last season for the Blue Demons with a team-best scoring average of 73.87. He was the top finisher for DePaul in two of the final three events last spring that included a tie for 12th place at the Dayton Flyer Intercollegiate.
Blue Demon Debuts: Alex Vekich and Aarjav Patel made their collegiate debuts as part of the DePaul contingent competing at the Valpo Fall Invitational. Vekich is a freshman from Scottsdale, Ariz. while classmate Patel is a native of Las Vegas.
