Freeman-Liberty Picks up BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll Selection

Chicago native adds Honor Roll recognition to a pair of Player of the Week honors this season
CHICAGO – After claiming BIG EAST Player of the Week honors in each of the first two weeks of the season, DePaul's Javon Freeman-Liberty was named to this week's Weekly Honor Roll. The Chicago native averaged 21.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals in wins over Northern Kentucky and Eastern Michigan.
Freeman-Liberty shot .586 (17-29) from the field overall and went 6-for-9 (.667) from three-point range last week. He recorded his third double-double of the season with 20 points and 12 rebounds against Northern Kentucky on Friday. On Sunday, he totaled 22 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals in just under 25 minutes of playing time against Eastern Michigan. Freeman-Liberty scored 20 of the 22 points in the first half that included 13 points during a game-deciding 31-7 run for DePaul over the last seven-and-a-half minutes of the first half.
Through six games this season, Freeman-Liberty is ranked fourth in the nation with a scoring average of 23.5 points per game and he is one of just 45 players in the country with three or more double-doubles. In the BIG EAST statistical rankings, he is first in scoring, second in rebounding (9.2 rpg), second in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.8) , tied for third in steals (2.2 spg) and fourth in assists (4.7 apg)
Connecticut's Adama Sanogo was named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Creighton's Ryan Nembhard was the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Freeman-Liberty was joined on the honor roll by Noah Horchler from Providence, Julian Champagnie from St. John's, Seton Hall's Jared Rhoden and Xavier's Nate Johnson.
